Sail Havasu

A sure cure for the winter blues and a chance to warm up. February 13-20 at Lake Havasu Arizona. The organizers would love to have you take a look at what they’ve got going on at the Havasu Pocket Cruiser Convention 2012. Many new seminars and activities are being added daily.

Cost? FREE!! That’s right. NO registration fee. They want you to come. Great group resort and slip rates. Over 115 trailer sailor crews signed up already! Where will it go this year? They hope to top 150?? Don’t know … but one thing is for sure … they want you to join them!

Shirley and I will be there with our West Wight Potter 15, Junco, we attended last year and it was a blast. The Lake is 50 miles long and several miles wide, so this is not just sailing on a pond. The weather is variable, 55 to 75 degrees in temperature and the wind varies from dead calm to 15 knots. The only costs are launch fees, slip fees, awards banquet, if you elect to go, and what ever you spend in the local watering holes. Camping is available at a private campground or the state park where launching is included. A remarkable feature is that this is a one man show put on by Sean, a city firefighter.

Add to all that, the friendships, the evening social events, the sailing, fun racing, and more … and this year is shaping up to be the best ever! Hope you’ll stop by their web site and check it out. Then make plans on attending.
