Hello Star sailors:
Many of you are sailing with steel whisker poles, which are heavy, and don't allow your jib to float high enough in light air. I noticed the difference when I switched to an aluminum pole.

I have recently found an aluminum pike pole about 11 feet long on the beach, which I have salvaged. After removing the ends, I have a 1" D aluminum section long enough to make a max length, 9' 6" including fittings, Star whisker pole. It would be simple enough for you to change out your steel tube for this one, or I could help you do it in my shop. Please email back if you are interested.
