Perfect Attendance Award

This year two boats made it to every race this season, September through May. This is quite an accomplishment. A couple other boats came close, missing only one race. But only two made it out for every race over the last nine months. This earned them the Perefect Attendance Award. It will be presented at the June Meeting.

Uproar was one of those boats. This is not the first year Ian has won this award. Few if any Members log as much time on the water as Ian.

Koosah was the other boat. She has been out for every season race for the last ten years. I find this almost unbelievable. When I created this award I wondered if anyone would ever win it. No one did the first year it was offered, though someone missed by only one race. Koosah did manage to win it the second year. They have not missed since. 200 plus races / ten years. And they have raced the Southern Sound Series too. Not to mention the summer races; though they missed several of these they usually sail more than they miss. And as I write they are headed back to Swiftsure.

I say “they” because this is truly a team effort. Everyone needs to show up consistantly to never miss a race. And I hear that Dave was not aboard every single race. The crew deserves credit too.

Congratulations to Dave, Ian, and the crews of both boats.

Steve Worcester, Errol
