This award, donated by Bill Maclean in memory of Joe Dubey, is for the boat that most improved her racing this year.
This award goes to the boat attending the most Cruises over the year.
For service to the club.
This is quite a feat: finishing every SSSS race this season, September through May, including the Toliva Shoal Race. But three boats did it. This earned them the Perfect Attendance Award. It will be presented at the June Meeting.
Kaitlin was one of those boats. Over the last nine months, she was out for all of the twenty days of SSSS racing.
This is the second year in a row Uproar has won this award. Ian has taken time off from racing Uproar in the summer to race on other peoples’ boats. Few if any Members log as much time on the water as Ian.
Koosah was the third boat. She has been out for every season race for the last eleven years, that is over 200 races! I find this almost unbelievable. And they have raced the Southern Sound Series too. Not to mention the summer races; though they missed several of these they usually sail more than they miss. As I write they are headed back to Swiftsure.
I say “they” because this is truly a team effort. Everyone needs to show up consistently to never miss a race. The crew deserves much of the credit for this award.
