Just a quick announcement. The Dinghy Fleet and Laser One Design Fleet will have the Annual Spring Meeting at the View Point Room at West Bay Marina at 1830 on Thursday March 22. Anybody interested in small boat racing or Laser One Design racing is welcome.

We wrapped up our 2011 summer racing season with the Fall Regatta/Picnic on the warmest day of the summer with very light winds for racing and a nice breeze for the picnic!
During the season we had 24 different skippers and 12 different types of boats racing with us. A very nice turnout over all.
Of course we would always like to see more. If you have a friend that just got a boat and wants to get into racing but is intimidated, tell them to come out and race with us. It’s a perfect place to get started. Everybody’s very helpful to the people new to racing.
The other side of that coin is that we have just finished our first year of the Laser One Design Fleet, which at the moment is incorporated into the Portsmouth Racing Fleet, so we all race together with one start for each race. There has been some very good competition and very close racing during the season with Dwaine Trummert and Jeff Kloppel tying for first place for Season Championship, which is fitting because the two of them are the main forces for getting the Laser One Design Fleet started this last spring.
We consider it’s first year a great success and a good base to build a solid Laser One Design Fleet here in Budd Inlet in the future.
We hope to see you and your friend out there next year.
