SSSS RC Officers : Organizations Governing our Sport
Entry Forms: PHRF Racing : Thursday Night Racing : Southern Sound Series : Generic
PHRF racing is year round. It is for keel boats, 20 feet and up. Results are handicapped using Pacific Handicap Racing Fleet of the NW handicaps. Our D Class races with them and is an easy way to start racing.
Porstmouth racing is primarily Thursday nights in the summer. It is for unballasted boats, 20 feet and less. It is handicapped using the Portsmouth Yard Stick. It is also an easy way to start racing. Sailing with them is a budding Laser Fleet.
Star racing is primarily in the summer. It is one design racing. We have one of the largest Star Fleets in the country.
SSSS is one of the clubs sponsoring the Southern Sound Series, along with Tacoma YC, Three Tree Point YC, Olympia YC, and Gig Harbor YC. The Series runs December through March, with each club sponsoring a race from their club. Except that we work with OYC to put on the race out of Olympia, the Toliva Shoal Race. It is in February and is for PHRF boats.
There is also a timed run contest, the Hope Island Dash.
