The Laser, Santana 20, and Tanzer are all on the line.

A little later the Laser can cross the Santana. But look at the Star.

However the wind did not last. You can see where it gives out. The Star, Hobie, and Laser all have to deal with almost no wind.

Before dying for the night, the wind came back, as the photos of the Canadian Laker starting the third race attests.
