On the fourth leg of the race we were a Mark. Boats had to pass west of us on their way back downwind to Mark A. Silverheels is shown doing so.

This was our chance to shorten the race, if we thought the boats could not complete the course.
We thought about shortening for D-Fleet: finishing just D-Fleet boats as they came by.
But we did not, as it was windy and looked like it would hold. It did, the last boat finished 20 minutes before the time expired.
