SUMMARY:Halloween Cruise - Longbranch
DESCRIPTION:Our next SSSS cruise will be on the October 24/25 weekend at Longbranch Marina. \n47° 12′ 56″ N\, 122° 45′ 28″ W.   \n5213 Key Peninsula Hwy S\, Longbranch\, WA\, United States\, 98351. \nLongbranch Marina is a 15-mile cruise from Olympia\, up the Filucy Bay Inlet\, West of McNeil Island. The guest moorage rate applies after four hours of use and is First-Come\, First-Served. At the time of this writing\, SSSS is the only yacht club visiting this marina for the weekend which includes 760 feet of dock for transient boats; so\, there should be plenty of dock space available. However\, be advised that if rafting up is needed\, each boat still requires moorage payment.  Alternatively\, if you choose\, this area is known to have good holding ground with a thick mud bottom for anchorage. \nDaily Guest Rate: $1.10 per foot per day. \nIncluded Amenities: \n\nElectrical 30 amp hookups\nFresh water\nRestrooms\nGarbage disposal\nFree Wi-Fi\n\nOn Saturday\, a pot-luck dinner will be held in the Pavilion at 17:00 followed by games and prizes. Wear your costumes! \nWhat to bring: \n\nPotluck dish & beverages\nPlates/Utensils and Cups\nTreats for trick-or-treaters\, in case we get youngster sailors.\n\nWear Costumes and decorate your boat\, as there will be Best Costume and Best Boat Decorations awards. \nIt helps us with our planning if we know how many are coming.  Please RSVP to cruises@ssssclub.com to let us know if you are coming\, and to let us know if you are bringing children. If you forget to notify us\, come anyway! \nOur plan for docking at Longbranch Marina: Back into the main dock and stern tie. We will try to put those who can’t get off their transoms onto one of the side-tie positions. We will be monitoring VHS Channel 72 to assist incoming boats.

SUMMARY:SSSS Cruise - Jarrel Cove
DESCRIPTION:Join us March 28–29 for the first cruise of the 2026 season to Jarrell Cove State Park\, located at the north end of Harstine Island. Jarrell Cove is a favorite early-season destination\, offering protected moorage\, quiet beaches\, forested trails\, and easy access by both boat and car. It’s also our teen daughter’s favorite location because the cove is calm enough for paddling and exploring with a dinghy. \nThe park provides twelve mooring buoys and dock space for boats 45 ft and under with power on a first-come basis. There is water available near the camp showers\, year-round pump-out service\, and toilet facilities available. Campsites are also available for those arriving by land. Once ashore\, enjoy beach walks\, forest trails\, and great company!  \nApproach to the cove is straightforward via Case Inlet. Please keep in mind that the Harstine Island Bridge in Pickering Passage has limited clearance and is not suitable for most sailboats. \nCruise hosts Dave and Aimee Opincarne\, aboard Cascadian Dream\, will be monitoring VHF channels 9\, 16\, and 72—give us a hail when you arrive.  \nPlanned activities for Saturday include a ranger guided park tour beginning at 1500\, followed by a social hour at 1700 and a group potluck dinner at 1800. If interest and conditions allow\, the weekend may include a skills-building docking workshop. \nSee the link below to the SSSS Facebook page for additional cruise details\, and visit the Washington State Parks Jarrell Cove page for mooring and park information: \nhttps://facebook.com/events/s/first-cruise-of-the-season-jar/1441256887466137/
